Function of School Education Department
Department of School Education was created on 3rd March 1998 though schools were established prior to the establishment of department. The brand name of school is “Calvary English School”. Motto of the schools “Learn to Lead &Serve”. Schools are managed by the Council through Central School Education Committee with School Secretary as its member secretary of the committee. The committee members are selected or elected from time to time.
The concept of running schools under NBCC is for the fact the NBCC germinated among the products of the Mission Schools. Thus, with the idea of giving Gospel education to children along with their normal educational career, the Council decided to start this noble project named Education Section in 1990s.The objective of the department is to charge as minimal institutional fees as possible without compromising in the quality of education or academic standard so that these children become good and responsible citizens and that they are enabled to compete in any competitive examination in the state and nation. Co-curricular activities are encouraged or conducted among the students for wholesome development of the children. Activities such as sports, music, literary and spiritual activities are also emphasized equally. Beside regular academic classes, students are provided with a chance to know the Gospel and that these children may reach Gospel to their parents.
The first Calvary English School was established at Moinhappa on 21st October 1992. It is now upgraded to class Xth affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Examination(CBSE), New Delhi. The second school was established in 1998 at Yachuli, the third was established in2001 at Sangram, and the fourth one was established in 2014 at Pakke-Kessang. All schools are affiliated and recognized by Government of Arunachal Pradesh with the strength of 540 students altogether in the academic session2021-22. Another school the Council has is Calvary School at Kowaiburuka, Assam managed by the Mission department. Besides the Council’s support, these schools are run on the basis of generous contributions from different sources. Each school has a local committee for daily management of the school.
Department of school education shall deals with Secular education including Schools, College, University and other activities relating to secular education of the Council. The affairs of the department shall be managed by a departmental Committee with School Education Secretary as the member secretary of the Committee along with manpower posted/recruited from time to time.
