Role of the Pastoral Department
Pastoral Department is another core department in Nyishi Baptist Church council(NBCC). The department was created in the year 2006 reformed from earlier sub-center organizational structure of administration. Pastoral Coordinator led as the Head of Department (HoD) till 2015. The designation was amended in NBCC rules in 2016 replacing “Pastoral Coordinator” as “Secretary Pastoral department”
Department looks after 52 pastoral ranges, 396 churches excluding churches in Fellowships, few numbers of fellowships, one Prayer Centre and four Prayer Houses at present each look after by Pastor responsible for execution of
ministerial task. Broadly, Council’s ministries can be seen in two folds- Church Growth and Mission Fields. Pastoral department is the source for acceleration of any Missionary activities within and outside of NBCC jurisdiction. It also engage din nurturing and shepherding the believers. One of the most vital roles that this department always carries forward is feeding the word of God to all the believers in every possible way, so that they are healthy and well equipped in the Bible and are also able to stand against any form of difficulties, trials and temptations.
The department organizes leadership training, church growth seminar, workshop on various church related issues, community awareness issues such as health &hygienic, education, social evil, disaster management and alleged spiritual activities like prayer & fasting, Lord’s Supper, Water Baptism, Healing Crusade, Bible class, Bible Studies and equipping human resource development. The department super vises the Relief and Rehabilitation section also, which is purely helping all the needed materials during emergency relief activities. Having a policy of Relief and Rehabilitation activities in the Council, many have been benefited during any catastrophic time irrespective of any caste, creed, and community background.
The pastoral Department is to Nurturing, feeding, and caring the flock is the duty of the shepherds. thus pastoral department of the Nyishi Baptist church Council play an important role in caring, feeding the word of God and Nurturing with the spiritual food to the believers. At present, Nyishi Baptist Church Council has 464 Churches including fellowship and 52 Pastoral Ranges covering the Nyishi inhabited districts of Arunachal Pradesh. From Local Pastors to Range Pastors the ministry based on God's command to feed, tend and guide the believers in Christ way.
